My Thoughts Tw: Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, Ableism, Murder, Gore, Animal torture...if you can think of a trigger warning, just assume it's in here.

My thoughts on 144 pages of it anyway. Yeah, I DNF'd it. Made it a tad over 1/3 of the book before I just couldn't take it anymore. It's about Patrick, a rich Wall Street man that is handsome, smart and a charmer apparently. Ya know, part of the 1% or whatever. He's also a psychopathic serial killer. It's scarier to know that there could be, probably are, people like him in real life, which I think it a big part of the point (and I do believe it does it well if you can read it). Obviously there are awful people like him in Wall Street still today even if you don't believe any of them are serial killers, he's still a horrible person besides that. All those trigger warnings come from his character and he is ment to be evil and a horrible person. But also...guess who is hero is? This Wall Street psychopathic serial killer written like it's after real life people and in 1991...guess who is hero is? The current, nearly 30 years later, president of the USA. I swear if I hear Trumps name in a hero light one more time (oh DT loves that pizza!) I WILL SCREAM. If you don't want to see his name, multiple times, from what i'd call hero worship from this psychopath, i'd stay away from this book. Yes, i'm terrified. Not of the book, of real life.

Despite all that...this book is incredibly boring. What everyone is wearing and eating is constantly described in detail. Morning routines. All routines. If I hear about another Armani suit, rolex watch or some pricey sunglasses I will also scream!

He's utterly boring and dull. Yeah there might be the occasional interesting (and disturbing, which is fine by me in books) thing happen but for the most part, it's utterly boring. I couldn't stand it. I was trying to skim read it. I really wanted to like this book. I bought a copy awhile ago and then got another copy in a subscription book box I pay for, so I have 2 copies I paid for...and I can't even finish it. I get why he was like that, it's part of him being a psychopath and all that....but I was bored out of my mind. I didn't think a book like this could be boring...man how wrong I was! Also, I hated every single character. They are all rich spoiled snobs...and I just couldn't care.

I'm really not trying to discourage anyone from reading it. If it sounds like you might like it or be able to get through it and wanna give it a shot, do. I think it has it's merits and a (scary) point to it. I just couldn't bare it myself. I will try to watch the movie one of these days..
