May 19th to May 25th, 2019 Weekly Wrap Up

What I Finished Reading

Titles in this section link to my (sometimes fuller) reviews on Goodreads.

Ice Massacre by Tiana Warner 5⭐

GAY. MERMAIDS. Honestly, if that doesn't peak your interest I don't know what will, lol. A war is going on between the people on the island of Eriana Kwai and the mermaids. I don't want to spoil things by saying too much. In the review linked above is a link to my original review because I read it last year but then never continued with the trilogy (WHY AM I LIKE THIS?!) so I re-read it, still stand by what I originally said, and am now continuing with the trilogy. :D

Paper Girls Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan 4⭐

Has a Stranger Things vibe to it. Already like the characters (though Mac gets on my nerves a bit with the homophobia, which is thankfully challenged, though I still love her) and am interested to see where the weirdness goes!

What I Read

Titles in this section link to my (sometimes fuller) reviews on Goodreads.

Charlotte's Web by E.B. White 4.5⭐

I see why this is a beloved children's classic now! I hadn't read it or seen it (still have to watch it). Charlotte is the only spider I like, and for that matter I love Charlotte! Friendship, loyalty, kindness. So heart-warming!

Night of the Living Dummy II by R.L. Stine 4.5⭐

Fun time with slappy. Actually tackles mental health a bit and the parents were more realistic and caring then in some other Goosebumps books.

Ice Massacre by Tiana Warner

Links to my review because I read it last year and loved it! But never continued with the trilogy, so i'm re-reading it so I can fix that.

TV I Watched

Steven Universe Season 1 Episode 1. I've heard so many good things about Steven Universe so i've started it. Also iZombie Season 5 Episodes 1-3. I love iZombie so much! It tackles so many hard-hitting topics, is thought-provoking and always makes me cry.

May 5th to May 11th, 2019 Weekly Wrap Up

What I Read

Titles in this section link to my (generally fuller) reviews on Goodreads.

Slade House by David Mitchell 4⭐

Telepathic twins obsessed with immortality. Haunted house. Paranormal weird happenings. Had a fun time.

Beach Party by R.L. Stine 2.25⭐

Pretty standard Stine YA Thriller. Karen and her friend Ann-Marie are staying at her dad's beach house by themselves. Drama. Murder attempts. Actual Murder. A twist that left a bad taste in my mouth that I can't say because spoilers. Sadly this one didn't work for me.

The Horny Little Mermaid by P.E. Kavanagh 3.25⭐

A short funny sexy little twist on the little mermaid. I didn't take it seriously, I don't think it's ment to be. Ria is the mermaid and she is very horny.

Into the Gray by Margaret Killjoy 4⭐

Trans girl thief (Laria) lures bad men to her man-eating mermaid girlfriend (The Lady). Talks about obsession and respecting yourself. Short but heartfelt. Fell in love with Laria.

Charlotte's Web by E.B. White

TV I Watched

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Season 9 Episode 7 "She's all Yak". Made me cry, like they usually do.

Movies I Watched

Saw (5⭐). The first one. I've never watched any of the Saw movies until now. I had heard they were torture porn with no point and I beg to differ. I found it to be intelligent, story-driven and thought-provoking. Thought-provoking in how patients are treated, how we are people. For a start. Absolutely loved the ending. Can horror be intelligent? Yes, yes it can.

Games

I have a Switch now so I just started (barely) Let's Go Eevee!
